The Mersey Partnership were among the first of Britain’s inward investment bodies to recognise the power of our independent research on Journey To Work Area catchments (JTWAs). Following the lead of TMP, MIDAS, Leeds, Locate in Sheffield and a host of other inward investment and local authority clients have drawn on our unique approach to modelling the behaviour and characteristics of those living in a catchment to produce documents for direct use with potential inward investing businesses.
We can now provide commute to work information on over 200 catchments across Britain and continue to add further areas to our database.
|
Recognising that the Liverpool city region is made up of distinct and separate employment areas, whose occupiers will face different recruitment catchments, TMP commissioned an initial series of seven Location Reviews covering the Merseyside area. The initial series was subsequently built on with local authority partners commissioning site specific reports covering Widnes Waterfront, Atlantic Park in Sefton and the Wirral International Business Park among others.
|
 |
Each Review sets out conditions in the catchment area in terms of general demographic trends, workforce issues, skills and training information, staff and property cost data compared with other UK locations and information on property availability and grant assistance.
Our work with TMP has also grown to providing information on key sectors such as maritime industries, financial services and contact centres.
As part of the overall contract our team provided support to the local authorities in Merseyside who would use our work through a roadshow and presentation of each Review. |
This was found to be an especially useful exercise for members of staff who were not previously aware that our Review series are all based on real world catchments rather than administrative areas and did not appreciate the depth of information that each contains.
We now provide regular updates and other technical inputs to TMP and many other inward investment bodies, keeping the information that is presented to investor projects as up to date, relevant and objective as possible.
